The selected vineyards for our Sauvignon Blanc are located in the cooler appellations
of Carneros and the Russian River Valley, giving the wine a crisp style with citrus
characteristics while grapes from the warmer Sonoma Valley impact the melon and
tropical fruit flavors of this well-balanced wine.
The growing season of the 2016 vintage began early with a warm and dry spring,
followed by a relatively cool summer. Harvest of the individual vineyard lots for our
Sauvignon Blanc began on August 24th at the peak of flavor, and ended on September
26th. We fermented and aged the grapes in separate lots of small stainless steel tanks
to maximize the delicate flavors, and select individual small lots to craft a
harmonious and complex blend. The wine was produced without any barrel aging or
malolactic fermentation to bring out the full varietal character of a Sonoma County
Sauvignon Blanc.
