Kenwood has prided itself on its highly acclaimed, consistent gold medal winning
Sonoma Zinfandel since its first vintage in 1970. The intense spicy and fruity notes
make it a perennial favorite with our winemakers.
The majority of the fruit used to produce the 2015 vintage was sourced from
vineyards located in the Dry Creek Valley long known for crafting superior Zinfandel.
Although the 2015 vintage had excellent growing conditions for producing flavorful
fruit, a spell of rainy weather during bloom in early May made for a very light crop.
Harvest began in late September when the individual vineyards reached their peak of
flavor, and each vineyard lot was fermented and aged separately in oak barrels. After
aging, the wine was blended for taste and balance prior to bottling.
